In December of 1993, Jim Croft passed his bike test. I passed mine in January of 1994. Within 2 days I had my first bike. An unreliable GSX 250. I didn't know a lot about bikes, where to go, rock nights or how to get into the rally scene so I had an idea which I suggested to Jim. We should get a meeting place in Chorley for bikers to meet, swop stories and information, and have a laugh.

Jim took this on board and went to search for a pub to meet in. First call was the Hollinshead pub (a.k.a. The Shed) which is now called Trader Jacks. Ray the landlord said we could meet on a Monday night. It was while we were talking to Ray that his son came in beaming and proudly announced to one and all that he had just passed his part two test. This was a very young Ste Hitchen. Club member number three! We stuck some adverts around for our first meeting in April 1994. Plenty of people turned up for the meeting and that first night Darren Woods, Chuck & Judy joined. The following Monday we all discussed a name for the club. All kinds of names were bandied about then Chuck said everyone was wild at heart. A bit of fiddling with the words and we had our name. The Chorley Wildhartz MCC was born. The club was formed in 1994 from an overwhelming desire to ride their bikes and to party. That ethos still holds true today as it did back then. And with 2004 being our 10th anniversary we aim to further those basic ideals by riding and partying harder than ever!We still meet every Monday night at Trader Jacks pub in Chorley (see map) from 8pm onwards. Visitors and potential members are always welcome.

We're always looking for new rallies to go to so if you have a flyer for your do please let us have one.
